Dear Belridge Community,

As Term 3 unfolds, we’ve already seen a flurry of activity and accomplishments that I’m proud to share with you.

On Wednesday, 25 June 2025, we were honoured to welcome the Governor of Western Australia to our school. His visit focused on road safety and the critical importance of making responsible decisions when driving. Our students engaged thoughtfully in discussions, showing great maturity and awareness.

The College continues to be proud of our students’ achievements across a range of disciplines inside and out of school life. This Term, I would like to congratulate students selected for the Cricket 12s WA State Team -  Zac Page and Kingston Moor (Year 7), our talented highland dancer – Alice Wardlaw (Year 7) and our Shaun Tan Award participants Chelsea Ribeiro (Year 10) and Abedah Swidan (Year 8).  Also Kyla Passmore (Year 9) on having her artwork selected for exhibition in the Joondalup Art Awards.

We also had artworks selected from Year 10 students Ruby Byrne, Salma Swidan and Chelsea Ribeiro that were on display at the prestigious annual St George’s Art Exhibition. This is a wonderful recognition of student creativity and skill at the highest level.

Our Year 7 and 8 students had a fantastic time at the Lightning Carnivals, showcasing teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit, and despite the chilly and wild weather, our OED students braved the cold and embraced the adventure working towards their ODE assessments on Camp.

At the start of this term, we undertook our parent information afternoon. For the first time, we moved to an afternoon/evening session to accommodate more families and provide greater flexibility. Thank you to all families who participated in our extended Parent/Teacher Interview day. We’re reviewing feedback and considering whether this longer format should become a regular feature – your thoughts are welcome.

At the start of this Term, we held our final School Development Day of the year.  This was a really useful day for all staff to engage in some quality planning for the remainder of the year as well as focus on some planning towards our whole school priorities. With some significant changes to many learning area curriculums, this time was greatly appreciated.

National School Opinion Survey results are in, and we’re grateful for the feedback from our community.  On our Parent Survey, 17/20 statements exceeded our school target of 3.6/5, with the remaining 3 scoring 3.5/5. The valuable feedback from students, staff, and parents continues to guide our growth and improvement as a school community.

Our Hydrogen Grand Prix (H2GP) Girls’ Team are revving for an exciting international journey to Germany this week. Their innovation and teamwork have earned them this incredible opportunity – we wish them all the best and look forward to sharing their journey with you in the next newsletter.

Mark your calendars for these exciting upcoming events this term:
