Principal's Message
The College is thrilled to announce that we have finally secured funding for the development of our new $18M Sports Science Centre. This state-of-the-art facility will provide our students with unparalleled opportunities to enhance their physical education and sports performance. The benefits to our students will include access to advanced training equipment, specialised coaching, and a curriculum designed to foster both physical and mental well-being. We are all super excited to see this project come to fruition. I will keep you posted as we progress.
Our ANZAC ceremony was a poignant and respectful event, honouring the sacrifices of those who served. It was heartening to see our students participate with such reverence and understanding of the significance of this day. A big thank you to Ms Grieve, Mr O’Neil, Mr Cheeseman and the Student Council for their organisation of the event.
The Year 8 Camp was a resounding success, offering students a chance to develop teamwork, resilience, and leadership skills in a fun and engaging environment. 115 students attended the camp for 3 days and 2 nights at Woodman Point in Fremantle. The memories and friendships formed during this camp will undoubtedly last a lifetime. A big thank you to Mr Richardson and Mrs Hall for their organisation, and to the staff who gave up their time to supervise, this type of support really makes a difference.
A huge congratulations to our First XI Cricket team for winning the Kim Hughes Champions trophy! The trophy is back in our cabinet, and we couldn't be prouder of our students' dedication and hard work. I would also like to acknowledge Scott Ogilvie on his 10-year service award with School Sport Australia. We are very lucky to have him as part of the Belridge Team!
Week 6 will be a busy time for our students with ESTs, OLNA, AEP testing, Semester 1 exams, and WPL. We encourage all students to prepare thoroughly and seek support from their teachers if needed.
Our parent surveys are now open and will close on Monday, 1 June 2025. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we strive to improve our school and provide the best possible education for your children. Please take a few moments to complete the survey – link available on Connect and Compass.
Our Annual Report for 2024 is now available online for you to view. This comprehensive document highlights our achievements, progress, and areas of focus over the past year in line with our Business Plan. We encourage you to take some time to read through it and celebrate the successes of our school community.
We are now accepting enrolments for the 2026 academic year. Please apply by Friday, 25 July 2025 to assist us in staffing and planning for the upcoming year. Early applications help us ensure we have the resources and staff needed to support our students effectively.
Applications for our specialist programs are rolling in, and we encourage you not to delay if you are interested. These programs offer unique opportunities for students to excel in areas of their passion and interest.
Please note the changes to our Parent/Teacher Interview schedule. Details have been sent via email through Connect and Compass. We have made these changes based on parent and teacher feedback. The longer session hopes to provide greater flexibility to our parents to attend the event and have time for quality discussion.
Lastly, please be reminded that our School Development Day is coming up on Friday, 30 May 2025. There will be no classes on this day as our staff engage in professional development activities to further enhance their teaching skills.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community.
