Meraki School Festival
The Belridge Dance Company performed their piece "Body Love" recently at the Meraki School Festival at the Perth Convention Centre. The dance was based around body image and how this impacts youth in our society. This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their talents and also to see what other schools in the community are creating. We received such positive feedback from the organisers, other teachers, parents, students and the judges:
"you all look so professional, you've raised the bar"
"you all portrayed a very important message"
"that was so powerful you had me in tears"
"you were very well rehearsed and it paid off"
"patterning and transitioning was very smooth"
"it was very emotive, it gave me goosebumps"
We came home with the "Most Powerful Message" award! I could not be any more proud with the way the group performed their routine. They have worked so hard and committed themselves to all rehearsals outside of school hours. They are such a wonderful group of young people to work with, who welcomed and encouraged other schools and represented Belridge Secondary College with pride.
