Year 8 - C8 Camp 2019

Year 8 students from Belridge, accompanied by several members of the school staff, attended the school’s annual C8 camp at the Swan Valley Adventure Centre from the 15th to 17th May.

As part of the C8 Camp, students were encouraged to Communicate, Collaborate, and Connect with their Year 8 Community. Students had ample opportunity to also demonstrate attributes such as Courage as they Challenged themselves. The activities on the camp linked in with past programs intended to build a more inclusive school community by bringing students together while strengthening relationships between our Year 8 students.

Students participated in a range of day time activities including Team Building, Catapult Construction, Commando Course, Flying Fox, Bush Craft, Canoeing, Crate Stack Challenge and Kite Building/Flying. After dark, students enjoyed some outdoor night time activities on the Wednesday night, while staying indoors on the Thursday night for a quiz night & disco. Students worked together in 9 teams for the duration of the camp and were awarded scores for how well they worked together. At the conclusion of the camp, it was the Red team that finished up with the highest overall score and they will be rewarded with a special lunch at school.

Some individual awards were also given out at the camp to three of our students. Those awards, as voted by their fellow students, were awarded to:

“Most Transformed”
the person who has really come out of their shell, challenged themselves and connected with new people. Awarded to:
Isabella Williams

“Most Encouraging”
the person who has been enthusiastic, encouraging and supportive of other students. Awarded to:
Alexandra Rodriguez

“The Happy Cup”
the person who has continually been positive, committed and helpful. Awarded to:
Callum Robertson

Thank you to all of the students who participated and behaved so well on the camp and thank you to all of the staff who made it possible.
