With the start of the new academic year upon us, it is a timely reminder to talk with your child and reiterate the basics of crossing the road safely.

• Don’t assume the driver has seen you.
• Look both ways.
• Cross only at designated pedestrian crossings.
• Avoid crossing at the front or back of buses and large vehicles.
• Don’t be distracted by your phone and remove headphones before crossing a road.
• Always look-out before you step out.
• Plan ahead -  so you are not rushing to catch the bus.
