Vice Principal - Senior School
Term 4 is always an exciting and busy time of the year. It signifies a time of change with the farewelling of the Year 12 students and the introduction and transition of the Year 7 (2024) students.
Year 12
The term started with the Year 12 Farewell breakfast in the Café followed by the final Year 12 assembly, attended by the Year 10 and 11 students and parents of graduating students. This was followed with the Year 12 Graduation Ceremony held at Kingsway Christian College which was well received by invited family and guests. This was a fitting occasion to highlight the “Two Schools, One Community” that Belridge is. I received many positive comments from the invited dignitaries about the vibe in the room on the night. Many of these dignitaries attend numerous graduation ceremonies and are moved by the connectedness within the two schools. It was a fantastic way to celebrate the end of one journey and the commencement of another.
Year 11
Year 11 students are completing their final week of formal lessons. ATAR students will commence their Semester 2 examinations on Monday, 13 November, the examinations are scheduled for 7 days. Students have received their personalised examination timetable.
Absence from an examination will need to be supported with a medical certificate (as per SCSA guidelines) and the school to be notified of the absence the morning of the examination. |
Students have now selected their 2024 Year 12 subjects. Should a change be required please contact the school as soon as possible to discuss options, the later you leave this the less likely a change is possible. I urge all students to review their 2023 performance and to determine if they are well placed to achieve their WACE.
Year 11 reports will be emailed to parents/caregivers on Tuesday, 5 December.
Years 7 – 10
The 2024 timetable is complete, and students have been placed into courses for 2024. Year 8 (Year 9, 2024) and Year 9 (Year 10, 2024) submitted their elective preferences and I was able to place most students into their preferred electives. Year 7 and 8 (2024) students are rotated through the different electives to get a taste of all electives on offer at the College.
Semester 2 reports will be emailed to parents/caregivers on Tuesday, 12 December. Please review these reports and book a teacher consultation, if required. I hope Semester 2 reports reflect the fantastic work all students have produced and the progress they have made.
