In a thrilling showcase of skill, camaraderie, and sportsmanship, Belridge Secondary College's volleyball teams left an indelible mark at the recent state-wide High Schools Cup tournament on Friday, 18 August. With both Year 12 male teams, Division A and Division B, representing the school with pride, the event was a true testament to their dedication and hard work.
The Boys A Team displayed exceptional teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Despite finishing just outside the finals, they played an outstanding match against Shenton College, demonstrating their determination and commitment on the court. Their passion for the game was evident in every spike and serve, and their attitude throughout the competition was commendable.
Meanwhile, the Boys B Team had an impressive run, making it to the quarterfinals before a close match against Sevenoaks Senior College. Their remarkable performance showcased their talent and resilience, earning them the respect of opponents and spectators alike. Their dedication to improving their skills and representing Belridge Secondary College was truly inspiring.
Both teams embodied the school's values of sportsmanship, dedication, and teamwork. Their positive behaviour on and off the court reflected the spirit of the High Schools Cup tournament. Athletics Carnival 2023
The 2023 Inter-House Athletics Carnival was held on Friday, 1 September.
Our annual sports day provides students time to relax, mingle and participate for their 'House' in a whole school event. The weather forecast was a concern as rain was on its way, however, thankfully the day turn out great with nice conditions. The rain finally made an appearance at the end of the carnival day, but we had luckily completed all presentations.
The Carnival ran smoothly and with minimal issues, which is testament to the many, many people who helped in the weeks leading up to the big day. Thank you to all staff who were involved in any way, shape or form. A special thanks also to our school gardener, Darren, who has been preparing the grounds and oval with minimal fuss and, as always, in a professional manner.
Students conducted themselves amazingly, and it was a great spectacle to witness so many keen and enthusiastic students competing, doing their best and having fun.
