School Board - June report
As we mark the halfway point of the year, it’s worth reflecting on the Boards journey so far in 2023. We said goodbye to a long time community member in Michael Mischin, and one of our brilliant teacher representatives in Mikaela Shirley. Michael has a very important role in the State Administrative Tribunal, and Mikaela has an equally important role outside of work – she’s going to be a mum! On behalf of the Board, we wish her all the best and can’t wait to see the baby pics.
Of course – it hasn’t all been departures, with a new parent representative coming onto the Board, Mrs Keyuri Patel. Again, I take this opportunity to formally welcome Keyuri, who brings another wonderful perspective to the strategic direction of Belridge Secondary College.
Finally, the Board plays an important role in ensuring that the school is governed in line with the WA Governments expectations, with our audit being completed this term. I must acknowledge the hard work everyone at Belridge SC puts in to meeting our strategic goals, but I would like to single out the enormous efforts our Principal put in to preparing for the audit. Sharon is an inspirational Principal, as clearly evidenced by the resounding response from our valued stakeholders, including parents, our feeder school Principals and of course, us Board members. So, thank you Sharon.
The hard work now kicks in for our Year 12's – I wish you all the best in your work placements and ATAR studies as your journey at BSC is nearing its end.
