Year 8 Camp

A massive thank you to Rebecca Edmonds (Year 8 Coordinator) for her meticulous planning of the Year 8 Camp. Students had the opportunity to build on their Communication, Critical Thinking and Connections, as part of the C8 theme, which will help them on their journey through high school and life beyond school. You will hear more about the camp in this newsletter and hopefully Year 7 students will begin to get excited about their forthcoming camp in 2024!

Timetables Semester 2

Please note that at the beginning of Term 3 all students in Year 7 and 8 will receive a new timetable for Semester 2. This is so throughout Year 7 and 8 students have the opportunity to experience several different subjects, which will allow them to begin to think about future pathways. Year 9 students will continue with the electives they have been completing in Semester 1.

Year 9 Students Career Taster Opportunities

Our Career Practitioner, Ashley Mouritz, has already organised several career taster excursions for Year 9 students this year. I would encourage you to support your child to attend some of these in order to have a look at some of the many career options open to them post-school. Mr Mouritz is also available in school to have individual meetings with students on careers and pathways.

Planners

As a school, this year, we have introduced a wellbeing planner for all students. Hopefully you have also been receiving the weekly emails that support the topics being covered in school. The importance of equipping students with skills to navigate different situations they may come up against is vital in today’s society. As a school we recognise this and hope that the emails and resources have been useful for your family so far.
