Year 9 - ANZAC
Mrs Wright's Year 9 classes recently learnt about WWI and the conditions faced by the soldiers on the front. Students got to taste test some ANZAC biscuits, although they were very different to the original 'hardtack' biscuits that were eaten by the men in the trenches and sent in care packages by the women from the home front. They also learnt about the history of ANZAC day and its first commemoration in 1916. Later that day the whole school commemorated the deaths and sacrifices of all the men and women who have served in conflict for Australia.
