Student Council News
With the senior school students at exams, we had a few weeks break from our weekly meetings, but there was still A LOT going on for the Student Council!
On Monday the 13th May, the Year 9 and 10 leaders attended the GRIP conference at the Perth Convention Centre with over 50 other schools. From learning about fundraising to difficult conversations, to resilience and public speaking, our leadership group made the most of every opportunity. It made some of us think about life after school and being lifelong leaders. I am so excited about what is in store for our leaders of tomorrow.
In other ground-breaking news, in conjunction with Ms Collins' Outdoor Education class, containers for change has finally arrived at Belridge. Led by Blake Barisani, our WA student council nominee, the bins arrived this week and once some education around the use of the bins has been finalised, they will roll out next week. We have also collaborated with Belridge Ed Support and are so excited to be working with them on this, and future recycling projects. All funds raised will be donated to the Blue Tree Project, raising awareness and prompting conversations around mental health. It’s ok to not be ok!
Watch this space as next term will bring another fundraising event, a HUGE project we have been working on and a visit to the City of Joondalup Youth Council.
