Year 10 Cricket
Primary School Regional Cricket Finals

The Year 10 Belridge cricket students were recently invited to umpire at the Primary School Regional Finals at Yokine Reserve on Thursday 11th November. Our students were handpicked to umpire after their terrific display of umpiring in the round games early in Term 1. Students once again represented Belridge SC in a superb manner and received many compliments and thanks throughout the day. I commend them on their behaviour and attitude.

Congratulations Liam Carstairs (Year 8) who represented Belridge SC at the WA All Schools Championships over the last weekend of October. Liam was very successful in his throw events and was proud to be standing on the podium 3 times!  Liam won Gold in the hammer throw and took out Bronze in both Discus and Shot Put events.  Liam will now be selected for the second year running for the Nationals Team.

Ella Harbison (Year 7) also competed at the WA All Schools Championships, against some of WAs best athletes. Ella defended her Australian Track and Field Championship Nationals Javelin title taking home Gold with a personal best throw of 39.55m, and retaining her Number 1 ranking in Australia for U14 Girls.  Additionally, Ella received Bronze for Discus, with a 3m personal best.  Given the distance of her throw Ella is now also listed on the Athletics Australia rankings for Discus and 5th in Shotput with consistent throws getting her back into Nationals form.
Unfortunately the Australian All Schools Championships, which were due to be held in Adelaide in December this year, has been cancelled due to Covid, however a WA State Team will still be announced to acknowledge those athletes selected in the coming days.
