Cricket Academy News

We are the Champions!

Belridge is delighted to announce that we are the First XI State Champions for 2020!
Specialist Cricket students played against Kent Street SHS in the school finals this term at the WACA and left as champions - winning the KIM HUGHES CUP – congratulations on a well-deserved win. A special mention to our teachers Scott Ogilvie and Brent Jarvis-Spinks on your outstanding leadership and coaching of students.
The Kim Hughes Shield is Western Australia's top tier competition available to all secondary schools across WA for Years 10-12. Schools can enter only one team per school.

Year 9 Cricket Camp

The Year 9 cricket camp was held in Rockingham over three days this term.  Belridge SC was joined by a number of other schools including Kent Street, John Forrest, Dalyellup and Butler.  Belridge entered two teams and games were 40-50 overs long. Both teams not only played competitive, hard cricket but are to be commended on their attitude and behaviour. There were many positive contributions made from students towards our wins, however, there were two stand-out performers for the camp and they were Matthew Carroll and Ethan Benson.

The camp is an opportunity for our students to extend and challenge themselves from a competitive stand point but also interact and work with students from other schools whilst developing themselves as individuals.
