School Board Matters
November 2020
Hello School Community,
The pieces are coming together for the end of the year, and I’m sure the time for a break and regrouping is well due. Thank you for all your support in helping the school provide a myriad of ways to educate our students through the various elements of chaos that have been thrown our way this year.
A special thanks to our Year 12’s who endured this chaos with optimism and calm in a very important year for them. We have now farewelled our Year 12’s in a wonderful Graduation Ceremony that saw them make their way as wonderful young adults into a world of their own choices and design, and we get ready to welcome our new members to our school community with the preparations for Year 7’s joining us next year well under way.
From a board perspective it is very pleasing to still be able to announce how well the school functioned during the times of disruption, and how quickly operations returned to as near as normal once the system settled down. This speaks highly to the calibre of staff we are fortunate to have at Belridge SC.
The board has welcomed a new community member with the addition of Kush Jalota, who started his appointment at the beginning of November. Kush is a Senior Engineer in the Mining Industry and is very keen to become a part of our community. He brings a number of skills to our board and some out of the box characteristics. A local resident, with no children, we believe Kush will be able to bring a very fresh perspective to the guidance of the board in the way it approaches and sees issues. Kush is also a keen cricketer and either knows or plays with a number of staff and students associated with the BSC Cricket Academy. Welcome on board!
